Hens Take Lead, Lee in Third Place Following First Day of River Landing Classic

WALLACE, N.C. -- The University of Delaware women's golf squad leads the team standings while Rachel Lee is third in the individual standings following Saturday's action at the River Landing Classic.
The Blue Hens carded rounds of 295 and 298 on Saturday, ending the day with a two-round total of 593. James Madison and Columbia are two shots back at 595 while Eastern Michigan, UNCW, and East Carolina all posted 603 scores during the day.
Lee shot a one over par 72-73-145 on the par 72, 6,082-yard River Landing Golf Course to finish the day in third place. Maggie Simmermacher of Old Dominion leads the field with a 70-73-143, while Katie Kirk is second after shooting a 74-70-144.
Andi SlaneNathalie Filler, who posted an 81-71-152, and Vitoria Teixeira, who recorded a 72-80-152, are each tied for 23rd place at eight over par. Amanda Terzian carded a 12 over par 76-80-156 to end the day tied for 40th place, while Annie Bowlsby is tied for 53rd place following her 17 over par day of 81-80-161. Teixeira and Bowlsby are playing the tournament as individuals for UD.
The third and final round of the River Landing Classic will begin with an 8:45 shotgun start on Sunday.
