SOUTHPORT, N.C. -- The University of Delaware women's golf team will conclude its 2014-15 regular season this weekend when the Blue Hens compete in the Colonial Athletic Association Championship at St. James Plantation.
The conference tournament returns to the par 72, 6,066-yard Reserve Club at St. James Plantation for the fourth consecutive year, with the eight league schools competing for the conference's automatic berth in the NCAA Regionals.
Eight teams will compete in the three-day, 54-hole event including the Blue Hens, College of Charleston, Elon, Hofstra, James Madison, Towson, UNCW, and William & Mary. Delaware and William & Mary tied for second place at last year's championship, while Charleston claimed the title.
Action on Friday and Saturday will begin at 9 a.m. while Sunday's final round will start at 8 a.m., with each day featuring split tees on the first and 10th holes.
Patty PostSenior Amanda Terzian, who leads the team with a 76.06 average round this season, will look to build on her performance at last year's conference tournament when she finished in fourth place. Terzian has posted three top 10 finishes on the year, including tying for first place at the UD Invitational on Oct. 25-26.
Andi SlaneFreshman Rachel Lee ranks third on the Blue Hens with a 76.56 average round while competing in all nine tournaments during the year, and has a team-high four top 10 finishes. Lee has finished ninth or better in each of the last three invitationals, while she tied for third place at the River Landing Classic on Apr. 11-12.
Junior Vimonthip Benjasupawan has also participated in all nine previous tournaments this year, leading the squad with six top 20 finishes on the campaign. Benjasupawan is averaging 77.27 shots per round, and tied for seventh place at the UD Invitational.
Junior Nathalie Filler has posted a 78.77 average round through nine outings this year, and is the only individual medalist in school history after winning the Tignanelli Towson Invitational on Sept. 8-9.
