Delaware Wraps Season Action Following 4-0 Loss vs. William & Mary

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – The University of Delaware women's tennis team gave it their all, but it wasn't enough as No. 56 ranked William & Mary defeated the Blue Hens, 4-0, Friday morning in the Colonial Athletic Association Quarterfinals.
The day began with doubles play at the McCormack-Nagelsen Tennis Center due to weather.
The top-seeded Tribe (14-6) quickly collected the team doubles point after 8-1 wins in the first and second flights.
After moving to the Millie West Tennis Facility and playing outside, William & Mary continued to roll, picking up wins in the first, second, and fifth slots.
Leeza Nemchinov defeated junior Danea Jonjic' (Split, Croatia/Croatia Natural Sciences & Technical), 6-0, 6-1 in No. 1 singles while freshman Arielle Shuren (Montebello, N.Y./Suffern) fell to Jeltje Loomans, 6-2, 6-1 in the second spot.
Senior Christina Harrington (Millersville, Md./Severna Park) dropped the No. 5 match to Maria Groener, 6-0, 6-0.
With the loss, Delaware finishes the year with an overall record of 6-9.
