CAA Championships - Day 1

Slane Tied for Individual Lead, Blue Hens Third After First Day of CAA Championship

Delaware posted a 303 score on Friday, behind only Elon at 295 and the College of Charleston at 302. UNCW is fourth at 306, followed by William & Mary (307), James Madison (310), Towson (317) and Hofstra (335).
Slane carded a one under par 71 on the par 72, 6,066-yard Reserve Club course at St. James Plantation, ending the round tied for the lead along with Elon's Heather Munro. Slane fired two birdies and seven pars on the front nine, and after falling back to even par, concluded her round with a birdie on 18.
Junior Nathalie Filler and freshman Rachel Lee each carded five over par rounds of 77, as both players finished the day tied for 14th place. Junior Vimonthip Benjasupawan is tied for 18th place following her six over par 78, while senior Amanda Terzian fired a seven over par 79 to end the day tied for 22nd place.
The second round of the three-day tournament will begin at 9 a.m. on Saturday.
