Delaware Volleyball Posts Two Wins, Two Ties Saturday at Penn Spring Tournament

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. -- The University of Delaware volleyball team recorded two victories and two ties on Saturday as the Blue Hens competed in the Penn Spring Tournament at The Palestra.
UD opened the day with a tie against Bucknell, 25-19, 25-27, before earning a tightly-contested 26-24, 25-22 victory over Navy. The Blue Hens then tied Villanova, 15-25, 25-9, and concluded the day with a 27-25, 25-19 triumph over the host Quakers.
Bonnie Kenny. “We had a slow start but as the day went on, we passed well and stayed in system. This allowed Chandler Bryant and Daria Robinson, our middle hitters, to be involved in the offense and open up our pin hitters. I am pleased with our improvement on serve receive and defense, since that was a priority for us this spring.”UD will now host the 2015 Delaware Spring Tournament on Saturday, Apr. 25 when the Blue Hens welcome UMES, Princeton, Morgan State and St. John's to the BCC, along with a UD Alumni Squad.
Delaware will open the day with a 9:15 a.m. match against St. John's, before taking on UMES at 10:10 a.m. The Blue Hens will then play Morgan State at 11:05 a.m. and Princeton at 12:35 p.m., while Delaware will conclude the day with two matches against the UD Alumni at 1:30 p.m. and 2:25 p.m. All matches will take place in the West Gym of the BCC Addition.
