RICHMOND, Va. -- University of Delaware freshman first baseman Mariah Kondravy was named the Colonial Athletic Association Softball Co-Rookie of the Week on Monday after concluding her season in impressive fashion last week.
Kondravy (Bethlehem, Pa./Liberty) went 8 for 16 at the plate during the Blue Hens' five games, leading the team with three home runs, 11 RBI and six runs scored during the stretch.
Kondravy was 2 for 3 with three RBI and a pair of runs scored in the 15-0 shutout of Saint Peter's last Wednesday, before adding a two-run single during the 12-4 triumph in the nightcap. She then laced a two-run single to centerfield in Friday's 5-2 loss to Towson in the first game of a doubleheader.
Kondravy belted a pair of solo home runs in the 4-0 victory over the Tigers during the second game of the day, while driving in another with an RBI single. She then capped her outstanding freshman campaign with a third solo shot during Saturday's season finale, ending the year with a UD single season record 15 homers.
In addition to setting the UD record, Kondravy led the CAA in homers, two more than any other player in the league. Her 55 RBI also led the CAA and were a Blue Hen single season mark, while her 117 total bases and .741 slugging percentage ranked second in the conference.
The weekly award was the second of the season for Kondravy, who also was named the CAA Rookie of the Week on Apr. 6.
