Two Home Meets Highlight 2015 Delaware Cross Country Schedule

NEWARK, Del. - The University of Delaware women's cross country team announced its 2015 schedule Wednesday highlighted by the Blue Hens hosting two events this fall.
Delaware will participate in nine meets this upcoming year, two of which will take place at their home course at White Clay Creek State Park.
The home meets will take place within the first four events as Delaware will host the Delaware Invitational on Sept. 12 and the Blue & Gold Invitational on Oct. 10. The Hens are the defending team champions in both events.
Kevin CataldoThe Blue Hens, who finished with a 2-1 dual record last season, will begin their 2015 campaign with the Lehigh Invitational on Sept. 4 at 10 a.m. in Bethlehem, Pa. 2014. UD finished in third place at the race a year ago.
After the Delaware Invitational, Delaware will then travel back to Lehigh for the Paul Short Invitational, on Oct. at 10 a.m.
Following the second trip to Lehigh, UD will host the annual Blue & Gold Invitational, which is the last of their home meets. The have won this event each of the last five years.
The Blue Hens then travel to the Princeton Invitational on Oct. 17 before they enter their post-season championship races.
The Colonial Athletic Association Championships will be held at first-time host College of Charleston (S.C). UD placed fifth at the meet a year ago, marking the team's fourth straight top five finish.
On Nov. 13, Delaware will run in the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regionals where the team will make its second trip to Princeton. The team hopes to come out of the gates hard and improve upon a 16th place finish in 2014.
The annual ECAC Championships will be held at Van Cortlandt State Park in New York on Nov. 21 with the NCAA Championships being held that same day at the University of Louisville (Ky.) for those that qualify.
With the loss of Katrina Steenkamer – who led the team in every race in 2014 – McFarlane will be counting on a balanced group that includes nine runners who competed at the CAA meet a year ago.
