Singleton joins the Blue Hens from her alma mater, Duquesne University, where she spent the last two seasons as the Director of Basketball Operations and Administration.
“I am excited to work with a group of veteran coaches that have had the experience of winning championships,” Singleton remarked. “This is a great opportunity and I am honored that Coach Martin has chosen to bring me in as a part of her staff.”
During her tenure with the Dukes, Singleton assisted the coaching staff with film exchange, team travel, academic coordination and enhancement, daily operations within the basketball office, fundraising and alumni and booster relations. In her role at UD, she will primarily work with the team's post players.
“We are elated to have Jade join our staff and we are all impressed with her energy and enthusiasm,” stated Martin, who is in her 20th season at Delaware. “Jade has an outstanding work ethic and has experience at both the high school and collegiate levels.”
A 2008 graduate from Duquesne, she was a team captain and started all 30 games for the Dukes during her senior campaign. Additionally, Singleton finished the season with a team-high 202 rebounds, which was 10th-best in the Atlantic 10. She also shot 44.3 percent from the floor to place 15th in the conference.
After receiving her bachelor's in elementary education, Singleton taught reading, language arts and English for fourth, fifth and sixth graders in the Duquesne City School District. She also coached seventh and eighth grade basketball at Duquesne City.
In 2009, Singleton was hired as an assistant at Oakland Catholic High School. During her three seasons with the Eagles, she helped coach the team to a 62-18 (.775) record, which included a 33-3 (.916) mark in the WPIAL AAAA Section 3. In 2012, Oakland Catholic finished an impressive 28-3 and earned trips to both the WPIAL and PIAA Championship games.
A native of Cleveland Heights, Ohio, Singleton returned to the Bluff in July 2013 as the Director of Basketball Administration before being promoted to Director of Basketball Operations in July 2014. She also obtained her Master's in teaching English as a Second Language in August 2014.
