Guillermo Delgado Earns Top Drawer Soccer Preseason Best XI Honor

CULVER CITY, Calif. – The preseason honors continue to roll out for University of Delaware standout Guillermo Delgado (Tres Cantos, Spain/Jose Luis Sampedro) as the junior forward was named Monday to the Top Drawer Soccer Preseason Best XI Second Team.
A two-time All-American, Delgado was the 2014 Colonial Athletic Association Player of the Year after leading the conference and ranking among national leaders with 12 goals and 26 points. Delgado guided the Blue Hens to the first CAA regular season title in program history. In just two seasons at Delaware, he is tied for third all-time in the record books with 27 goals and fourth with 61 points in 39 career games played.
Ian HennessyEarlier this month, Delgado was named to the MAC Hermann Trophy Watch List while also garnering CAA preseason Player of the Year honors.
Delaware continues exhibition play this coming Saturday with a trip to Monmouth before opening regular season play Friday, August 28 by hosting Central Arkansas at Stuart & Suzanne Grant Stadium.
