Blue Hens Head To Diane Thomason Invitational This Weekend

IOWA CITY, Iowa -- The University of Delaware women's golf team is back in action this weekend when the Blue Hens compete in the Diane Thomason Invitational hosted by the University of Iowa at Finkbine Golf Course.
The 54-hole tournament will be played on the par 72, 6,142-yard course and features 12 teams including Delaware, Bradley, Boston University, Bowling Green, Harvard, Iowa, Missouri State, North Florida, Northern Illinois, Rutgers, South Dakota State and Wichita State. Two rounds will be played Saturday while the final round will take place on Sunday, with 8:30 a.m. Central shotgun starts on both days.
Andi Slane will lead UD from the number one spot after tying for fifth place at last weekend's season-opening Nittany Lion Invitational. Slane, who finished at seven over par, has now placed fifth or higher in four of her last six tournaments, dating back to the start of the 2015 spring season. Sophomore Rachel Lee, who was eighth at the Penn State tournament, and senior Nathalie Filler, who tied for ninth, will also compete for the Blue Hens at the Diane Thomason Invitational.Rounding out the UD lineup will be senior Vimonthip Benjasupawan, who tied for 13th place at PSU, and junior Vitoria Teixeira, who tied for 23rd place.
Following the tournament, Delaware will be off for two consecutive weekends before competing in the Princeton Invitational on Oct. 3-4.
