NEWARK, Del. -- The University of Delaware women's soccer team will attempt to win its third consecutive match on Sunday when the Blue Hens host George Washington at 3 p.m. at Stuart & Suzanne Grant Stadium.
The match is part of a doubleheader, following the UD men's soccer contest against Lehigh which begins at 12 noon.
The Blue Hens are back over the .500 mark at 4-3 following Sunday's 6-1 home win over Brown and the 1-0 shutout of Princeton on Thursday night. UD junior Michelle McEnroe scored the lone goal vs. the Tigers by putting home her own rebound just 4:34 into the contest, while goalkeeper Kailyn Rekos made four saves to record her second clean sheet of the season.
The Colonials are 2-3 on the year and have lost two straight after dropping a 4-1 contest at Georgetown on Thursday. Mackenzie Cowley paces George Washington with four goals during the season, while Emily Brown and Lina Proska have added one each. Goalkeeper Miranda Horn has posted a 1.78 goals against average and has made 14 saves early in the season.
George Washington has won the previous two meetings between the schools, a pair of 2-1 victories in 1996 and 2010 in Newark.
