Slane, Blue Hens in Second Place After First Day of Diane Thomason Invitational

IOWA CITY, Iowa -- The University of Delaware women's golf team sits in second place just one shot behind host Iowa on Saturday following the first day of the Diane Thomason Invitational.
The Blue Hens carded a 303 score in the first round and a 296 in the second, finishing the day in second place out of 12 teams with a two-round total of 599. The Hawkeyes lead the field with a 598 score, while Harvard sits in third place at 600. Wichita State and Missouri State are each tied for fourth place with 612 scores.
Andi SlaneSophomore Rachel Lee sits in sixth place with a five over par 76-73-149, while junior Vitoria Teixeira is tied for 18th place after carding a nine over par 75-78-153. Senior Nathalie Filler is tied for 26th place after she fired a 10 over par 82-72-154, while classmate Vimonthip Benjasupawan recorded an 18 over par 86-76-162 to end the day tied for 59th place.
The final round of the tournament will begin at 8:30 a.m. Central on Sunday with a shotgun start.
