PHILADELPHIA, Pa. -- The University of Delaware women's soccer schedule hits the halfway point on Friday as the Blue Hens close out their non-league slate with a 7 p.m. match against Saint Joseph's at Sweeney Field.
Delaware is 5-3 on the season and has won three consecutive matches, out-scoring its opponents 10-2 during that stretch. The Blue Hens are coming off a 3-1 home victory over George Washington on Sunday, as Natalie Zelenky scored two goals and assisted on the other by Nikki Adams. Zelenky currently is tied for seventh in Division I with seven goals and tied for 13th with 15 points, as she leads the Colonial Athletic Association in both categories.
Due to her performance against the Colonials, Zelenky was named to the Top Drawer Soccer Team of the Week on Tuesday.
Riley Curtin leads the squad and is tied for second in the league with four assists, while Michelle McEnroe has added two goals and two assists for six points. Kailyn Rekos has played all eight matches in the Blue Hen goal, compiling a 1.83 goals against average and 30 saves.
The Hawks enter the match with a 4-2 mark with wins over Buffalo, Sacred Heart, Rider and Seton Hall. Emily Gingrich leads Saint Joseph's with five goals, three assists and 13 points, while Dakota Mills has added three goals on the year.
Delaware holds an 8-3-2 all-time record against Saint Joseph's, although the teams have not faced each other since the 2012 season.
Following the match, the Blue Hens open CAA play next weekend with a southern swing against College of Charleston and UNCW.
