CAA Releases Tentative 2015-16 Women's Basketball Schedule

RICHMOND, Va. – The University of Delaware women's basketball team will open the 2016 Colonial Athletic Association campaign at Hofstra on Jan. 3, as announced Wednesday alongside its complete, tentative, schedule for the upcoming year.
The schedule will follow a Friday/Sunday format throughout the season, which will deliver more consistent play-dates in an attempt to provide some consistency in prep-time.
Delaware will face each of the league squads at both home and away for a total of 18 CAA matchups.
The Blue Hens conclude 2015 with 11 non-conference dates before opening 2016 on the road to face the Pride, a team that knocked Delaware out of the 2015 CAA Tournament with a 45-42 victory in the semifinals.
Following the trip to Hempstead, N.Y., the Hens welcome UNCW (Jan. 8) and Northeastern (Jan. 10) to the Bob Carpenter Center before heading south to the College of Charleston for a Jan. 15 matchup.
The longest CAA home stand will feature Towson (Jan. 17), Drexel (Jan. 22) and William & Mary (Jan. 24) and is trailed by three games at James Madison (Jan. 29), Drexel (Jan. 31) and Towson (Feb. 5).
Delaware continues the February slate by hosting Elon (Feb. 7) and the College of Charleston (Feb. 12). The Blue Hens will then travel to William & Mary (Feb. 14) and Northeastern (Feb. 19).
A Feb. 21 meeting between UD and Hofstra will take place in Newark before the Hens conclude CAA travel with trips to Elon (Feb. 26) and UNCW (Feb. 28).
The 2016 CAA regular season will close on March 2 as the Blue Hens face James Madison at the Bob.
The CAA Women's Basketball Championship returns to the Show Place Arena in Upper Marlboro, Md. and will be held March 9-12. Comcast SportsNet will televise both semifinal contests on Friday, March 11 and the conference title game on Saturday, March 12.
For the second consecutive year, five CAA women's basketball games will be nationally televised with partner American Sports Network. Those games will be announced in conjunction with the conference's basketball media day on October 27. All games are available on CAA.tv throughout the season.
All dates for CAA league games are subject to change. Game times will be announced at a later date.
