NEWARK, Del. -- The University of Delaware women's soccer team will look to get back on track Thursday when the Blue Hens return home to host Georgetown at 7 p.m. at Stuart & Suzanne Grant Stadium.
After opening the season with a pair of victories over Loyola (Md.) and Army West Point, UD dropped contests to Richmond and the second-ranked Cavaliers last weekend at the Virginia Nike Soccer Classic. Blue Hen freshman Riley Curtin scored Delaware's lone goal against Virginia off an assist from Nikki Adams, while Kailyn Rekos made six saves in the UD net. Curtin and senior defender Maddy Parker represented the Blue Hens on the All-Tournament Team.
Natalie Zelenky continues to lead Delaware with three goals on the young season, while Curtin and Adams have contributed a goal and an assist each. Maddie Brosler has posted a team-high two assists, while Rekos has recorded a 2.72 goals against average in goal.
Georgetown also enters Thursday's match with a 2-2 record, following a 1-0 double overtime victory over San Diego on Sunday. The Hoyas opened the year against a pair of CAA squads, defeating James Madison, 4-3, and falling to William & Mary, 3-0, at the JMU Invitational. Georgetown then dropped a 2-1 decision to UConn, before the win over the Toreros.
Grace Damaska leads the Hoyas with three goals on the year while Audra Ayotte has added two, including the game-winner in overtime against San Diego. Georgetown has won each of the four previous meetings with the Blue Hens, all of which occurred between the 2005 and 2013 seasons.
Delaware remains home on Sunday to host Brown at 1 p.m. at Grant Stadium.
