UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- The University of Delaware women's golf team sits in second place out of eight squads as the Blue Hens kicked off their 2015 fall season on Saturday at the Nittany Lion Invitational.
UD posted an opening round of 296 before following with a 303 score during the second, ending the day with a 599 total. Penn State leads the field with a 587 score, while CAA squads William & Mary (603) and Towson (612) are third and fourth, respectively.
Andi Slane is also tied for sixth place after firing a five over par 76-73-149 on the day while Rachel Lee, who carded a seven over par 75-76-151, will enter Sunday's play tied for 12th place.Nathalie Filler, who fired a 74-81-155, and Ashley Dingman, who recorded a 79-76-155, are both tied for 18th place at 11 over par. Marie Bogenez is tied for 24th place with a 13 over par 77-80-157, while Vitoria Teixeira fired a 14 over par 80-78-158 to end the day tied for 30th place.
Emma SillsAlex Liu of William & Mary leads the field with a three under par 69-72-141, while Jackie Rogowicz of Penn State is one shot back.
The final round of the Nittany Lion Invitational will begin with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. on Sunday.
