Delaware Looks to Get Back to Winning Ways Wednesday at Seton Hall

LAST TIME OUT
Delaware was forced into a double overtime contest for the second straight game, but the outcome was not in the Blue Hens favor as Villanova came out with the 2-1 victory Saturday at Higgins Soccer Complex. The Wildcats (3-0-0) recorded the first score of the game in the 18th minute while Delaware junior Jaime Martinez posted the equalizing goal in the 31st minute. Both teams were held scoreless for the next 70-plus minutes before Padraic McCullaugh notched the game-winner to open the second overtime. Freshman Blaí Palmi collected a season-high nine saves for the Blue Hens (1-1-1).
· A former standout for the Pirates, Gerson Echeverry (Seton Hall '94) is in his fourth season as head coach at SHU and holds a career mark of 18-30-8 (.393). He previously served five seasons as the top assistant coach for the program.
ABOUT SETON HALL
With 15 newcomers and a total of 20 underclassmen, the Pirates have opened the year 0-2-1. Most recently, SHU fell to Rider, 2-1, last Friday at Owen T. Carroll Field. Samuel Geller, Nick Najera and Eric Lagg have all posted a single goal for the Pirates while Andrews Arcila has the team's lone assist on the year. Julian Spindler has played all 270 minutes in the net for the Pirates and has collected 11 saves at a clip of .647. Seton Hall has been outshot, 43-22, by opponents this season.
