UMBC Notches 7-0 Match Over UD

CATONSVILLE, Md. – The Blue Hens dropped a 7-0 decision to UMBC Friday evening at Forty West Racquet Club.
The Retrievers (1-4) earned the doubles point after sweeping all three matches.
Alex Sweet (Naples, Fla./Barron Collier) and Tim Puterio (Kingston, R.I./South Kingstown).In singles action, the Hens (0-2) fought tough, but UMBC held all matches to just two sets on the night.
Vince Maximo“Although we lost, our guys competed well against a very strong UMBC team. Each and every one of our players is getting stronger every day. We had very strong leadership on and off the court tonight from our captains, Mike Furr and Tyler Flematti. We will get back to work and prepare for James Madison next weekend.”
