ELKTON, Md. – Delaware collected its first win of the spring season Saturday evening as the Blue Hens cruised to a 7-0 victory over Loyola at Elkton Indoor Tennis.
The Hens (1-1) opened the night by sweeping the doubles point with 6-0, 6-3 and 6-1 wins in the first, second and third flights, respectively.
In singles action, freshman Sarah Hall (West Orange, N.J./Mount Saint Dominic Academy) picked up the first victory by defeating Nicole Eberle, 6-1, 6-0, in the fifth flight.
In top flight play, sophomore Amanda Studnicki (Normal, Ill./Normal West) collected a 6-1, 6-1, win over Megan Hahn.
Freshman Sara Komer (Venetia, Pa./Peters Township) followed with a 6-1, 6-2 victory against Julie Clark to seal the victory in the fourth spot while junior Denny LaMachia (Hopkinton, Mass./Hopkinton) defeated Amanda Lanciano, 6-1, 6-1 in the second slot.
Freshman Annie Jaskulski (Wilmington, Del./Wilmington Friends) posted a 6-1, 6-2 decision in the third flight over Emily Hughes. Jaskulski previously defeated Hughes, 7-6 (2), 6-2, to clinch the Saint Joseph's Invitational B Flight Consolation Final in September.

HEN SCRATCHINGS
· Sarah Hall became the first player this season to reach 10 singles victories.
· The Blue Hens are 47-42 in singles action and 19-17 in doubles play this season.
· Delaware last posted a 7-0 victory on February 1, 2014, also against Loyola.
· The Hens have won four straight over the Greyhounds since the 2004-05 campaign.
