Hens Successful at 20th Annual Cissie Leary Memorial Invitational

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – In its first individual format bracket of the fall campaign, Delaware registered 10 singles wins and five doubles victories at the 20th Annual Cissie Leary Memorial Invitational, hosted by the University of Pennsylvania at the Hecht Tennis Center this weekend.
The duo of junior Amanda Studnicki (Normal, Ill./Normal West) and sophomore Sarah Hall (West Orange, N.J./Mount Saint Dominic Academy) led the way by finishing the weekend as Flight B
Doubles finalists. The pair defeated teams from Cornell, St. John's, Yale and William & Mary before falling to Maryland's Ekaterina Tour and Caroline Williams in the championship round.
Hall and Studnicki were joined by freshman Brooke Pilkington (Virginia Beach, Va./Cape Henry Collegiate) and sophomores Annie Jaskulski (Wilmington, Del./Friends) and Sara Komer (Venetia, Pa./Peters Township) in garnering two singles wins apiece.
In Flight A, Pilkington registered triumphs over Luba Vazhenina (Penn) and Dasha Sapogova (Penn State).
Komer picked up a win against Irina Preotescu (St. John's) before clawing back for a 3-6, 6-3, 13-11 victory versus Columbia's Renee Ren in Flight B.
Also in Flight B, Studnicki defeated OJ Singh (Penn) and Maria Groener (W&M) while Hall collected victories over Sunday Swett (Yale) and Cecily Wuenscher (W&M).
Jaskulski wrapped play in Flight C by posted wins versus Nicole Berkman (Penn) and Liyin Xu (Penn State).
