Blue Hens To Host Delaware Invitational This Weekend in Rehoboth Beach

REHOBOTH BEACH, Del. -- The UD women's golf team will close out its 2016 fall schedule this weekend as the Blue Hens host the fourth annual University of Delaware Invitational at the Rehoboth Beach Country Club.
The tournament will be held on the par 71, 6,003-yard course at RBCC, featuring two rounds on Saturday beginning at 8:30 a.m. and one on Sunday starting at 9 a.m. The 10-team field includes the Blue Hens, Dartmouth, Delaware State, Harvard, High Point, La Salle, Penn, Rutgers, Seton Hall and Towson.
Last year Harvard claimed the team title, while the Crimson's Lito Guo was the tournament medalist.
The invitational concludes the fall season for the Blue Hens, who have posted three top-10 finishes during their first four tournaments and captured the Rutgers Invitational crown on Sept. 16-17.
UD freshman Ariane Klotz is averaging a team-best 74.92 shots per round for Delaware this fall, and has been the team's top finisher in three of the four invitationals. Valentina Mueller ranks second on the squad with a 76.17 stroke average, while Vitoria Teixeira is third by averaging 76.75 shots per round.
