Blue Hen senior Autumn Jenkins paced UD with a team-leading 12 kills against just two errors, while Daria Robinson added five kills and a team-high four blocks on the night. The Cougars raced out to an early 10-4 advantage in the opening set, and led by as many as 10 points with a 24-14 cushion. Delaware answered with four straight points, before a kill by Charleston's Riana Brennan gave the Cougars the early lead.
The second game was more of the same, with Charleston jumping ahead 11-6 and leading comfortably the rest of the way to take a two-set advantage. Delaware led for a majority of the third frame, and broke a 19-19 deadlock with a three-point run to go in front 22-19. But after a Robinson kill put the Blue Hens up 23-22, the Cougars captured the final four points of the match to seal the victory.
Delaware closes its weekend road trip on Sunday with a 1 p.m. match against UNCW at Trask Coliseum.
