Blue Hen Volleyball Heads South To Face Rival Towson

TOWSON, Md. -- The University of Delaware volleyball team continues its road stretch on Wednesday when the Blue Hens make the short trip down I-95 to face local rival Towson at SECU Arena at 7 p.m.
Live stats and live video will be available for the match between the Blue Hens and Tigers.
Delaware has won three of its last four matches to improve to 9-14 overall and 3-7 in the Colonial Athletic Association, including Sunday's four-set victory at UNCW. Autumn Jenkins blasted a season-high 20 kills against the Seahawks, while Maria Bellinger added 15 and Alexa Swann contributed nine. Erin Layne dished out 49 assists for the Blue Hens while four players reached double figure digs, including Taylor Hollingsworth's team-leading 28 digs.
Jessica Lewis is leading the Tigers with 372 kills, 250 digs and 27 service aces, while Marrisa Wonders has handed out a team-high 662 assists and Anna Holehouse is adding 340 digs. Towson is 19-6 overall and 6-4 in the CAA, as the Tigers also defeated UNCW and fell to Charleston last weekend.
Towson has won nine of the last 11 matches between the two teams, including a four-set victory over the Blue Hens on Sept. 24 at the Bob Carpenter Center. Lewis slammed 25 kills for the Tigers in that contest, while Delaware junior Daria Robinson belted a team-high 13 kills for the Blue Hens.
Following the match, Delaware closes its stretch of four consecutive road contests on Sunday with a 2 p.m. match at Elon.
