Blue Hens Close Out Home Schedule This Weekend vs. UNCW, Charleston

NEWARK, Del. -- The University of Delaware women's soccer team will close out the home portion of its 2016 schedule this weekend when the Blue Hens host UNCW and the College of Charleston.
UD will take on the Seahawks on Friday at 7 p.m. and the Cougars on Sunday at 1 p.m. at Stuart & Suzanne Grant Stadium. Live video and live stats will be available for both matches. Sunday's contest will be Senior Day, as Blue Hen seniors Nikki Adams, Mary Aleixo, Madison Brosler, Mikala Kin, Michelle McEnroe, Carolyn Seltzer and Natalie Zelenky will be honored in a pregame ceremony.
The Blue Hens, who are 3-10 overall and 2-2 in the Colonial Athletic Association, are looking to get back on track after falling at Towson and James Madison last weekend. Delaware is currently tied for fourth place in the league standings with five matches remaining in the regular season.
Zelenky, who scored UD's lone goal against the Dukes on Sunday, continues to lead the team with four goals and two assists for 10 points. Brosler and Dani Kabat have each added two goals on the year, while Adams and Kin have contributed a goals and two assists apiece. Kailyn Rekos has started all 13 matches in the UD goal, making a CAA-high 80 saves and posting a 1.86 goals against average.
UNCW enters the weekend with a 7-3-2 overall record, while the Seahawks are 1-1-1 in the CAA and are coming off a 4-1 victory over Hofstra on Sunday. Serenity Waters leads the CAA with six assists, ranks second in the league with 18 points, and is tied for third with six goals along with teammate Nikki Cox. Madison Melnick has added four goals on the year, for UNCW while goalkeepers Liisa Rahkola and Carolyn Huddy have combined for five shutouts.
Charleston carries an 8-4-1 overall record and a 1-1-1 CAA mark into its match at Drexel on Friday, and the Cougars had been unbeaten in nine straight games before a 2-1 setback to Northeastern on Sunday. Laura Ortega leads Charleston and is tied for fifth in the CAA with 13 points, while her five assists are tied for second most in the conference. Jessica Schifer is tied for sixth in the league with five goals, while goalkeeper Lauren Killian is posting a CAA-best 0.70 goals against average to go with six shutouts.
Delaware leads the all-time series with UNCW, 8-7-2, but last year the teams tied 2-2 in the regular season before the Seahawks posted a 4-0 win in a CAA Tournament first round game.
The Blue Hens and Cougars are 1-1-1 in three all-time meetings, with Charleston recording a 1-0 victory a year ago.
