Delaware will battle the Pride on Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Mack Physical Education Center, before facing Northeastern on Monday at 4 p.m. at Cabot Gym. Live video and live stats will be available for both matches.
The Blue Hens, who enter the weekend with a 6-11 overall record including an 0-4 mark in CAA play, are looking to snap a six-match losing streak. Delaware is coming off a heartbreaking week that saw the Blue Hens drop five-set thrillers at home to UNCW, Elon and Charleston in a four-day span.
Senior outside hitter Autumn Jenkins has recorded nine double-doubles on the season, including seven in her last eight matches, to pace the Blue Hens. She currently ranks second on the team with 2.15 kills per set, behind only freshman Maria Bellinger who averages 2.62 kills per set. Alexa Swann leads the team with a .272 hitting percentage, in addition to ranking second in the league with a 1.11 blocks average.
Senior libero Taylor Hollingsworth is third in the league by averaging 4.76 digs per set, while setter Julia Anderson ranks sixth with an 8.31 assists average.
Hofstra, which was picked to win the league in the CAA Preseason Poll, improved to 14-5 overall and 3-2 in the conference following Thursday's four-set win over Towson. Michela Rucli leads the CAA with a .387 hitting percentage for the Pride, while Veronika Kostova ranks third with 3.33 kills per set and Hannah Klemm is handing out 9.69 assists per set.
Northeastern enters its home match vs. Elon on Friday at 13-5 overall and 3-1 in the league. The Huskies, in the midst of a six-match homestand, are coming off a three-set victory over William & Mary and a four-set triumph over James Madison last weekend. Caterina Rosander and Shaina White rank second and third respectively in the league in hitting percentage, while Gabrielle Eyl is second with 5.28 digs and Jamie Bredahl has posted a CAA-leading 30 service aces.
Hofstra leads the all-time series with the Blue Hens, 49-19, and the Pride has won the last four meetings between the schools. Delaware holds a slim 24-22 edge over Northeastern, with each team posting a four-set victory on its home court a year ago.
