Blue Hens Continue Stellar Season as UD Overwhelms Hofstra, 7-2

NEWARK, Del. – No. 9 Delaware continues to dominate opponents as the Hens trounced Hofstra, 7-2, in CAA action Sunday afternoon at Fred P. Rullo Stadium.
It was once again a complete team effort as 12 Hens picked up at least one point on the day.
Sophomore Greta Nauck (Krefeld, Germany/Gymnasium am Moltekeplatz) led the way with two goals and an assist to up her league-leading point total to a career-high mark of 41.
Delaware (12-2, 3-0 CAA) also saw multiple point games from redshirt junior Kayla Devlin (Annapolis, Md./Annapolis) and seniors Maura Zarkoski (Eagleville, Pa./Villa Maria) and Meghan Winesett (Centreville, Va./Westfield). Devlin finished the afternoon with two goals while Winesett notched a goal and assist and Zarkoski dished out two helpers.
The Hens outshot Hofstra, 23-6, and also held a 10-2 margin in penalty corners.
Junior Emmeline Oltmans (Baarn, The Netherlands/Het Baarnsch Lyceum) and redshirt sophomore Sydney Rhodes (Middletown, Del./C. Milton Wright) split time in the cage and each tallied a save.
Lara Bittel and Stella Schoen each collected goals for the Pride (9-5, 1-2 CAA). Lauren Saltus stopped 11 Delaware shots.
· The Hens have now scored in 39 straight games dating back to November 2014.
