Guillermo Delgado Named ECAC All-Star

DANBURY, Conn. – Delaware senior Guillermo Delgado (Tres Cantos, Spain/Jose Luis Sampedro) was named Wednesday to the 2016 Division I ECAC Men's Soccer All-Star Team.
The 2016 CAA Player of the Year, Delgado is the nation's active career leader in points (117) and goals (49) and is currently seventh nationally with 1.68 points per game and 14th with 12 goals. Delgado, one of Delaware's tri-captains, led the CAA in six of nine offensive categories and is second in two others.
Ian Hennessy, who recently completed his 11th season at the helm of the Blue Hens.Delgado's 32 points this season is good for sixth in UD single-season history while his eight assists tied for fourth and 12 goals tied for eighth.
One of the most decorated student-athletes in University of Delaware history, Delgado finished his four-year career in a Blue Hens uniform as the school's all-time leader in five statistical categories: points (117), goals (49), assists (19), game-winning goals (17) and shots (282). A probable four-time All-American, he also finished fourth all-time with 78 career games played while leading the Blue Hens to a CAA Tournament title (2016), CAA regular season crown (2014), four CAA Tournament finals appearances and two trips to the NCAA Tournament.
