Delaware Concludes Fall Season By Winning Varsity Eights Race at Head of the Occoquan

FAIRFAX, Va. -- The University of Delaware Varsity Eights "A" boat won its Collegiate Women's 8+ race as the Blue Hens concluded their fall exhibition season on Saturday at the Head of the Occoquan Regatta.
The "A" boat finished in first place out of 31 crews with a time of 17:07.25, while the UD "B" boat came in ninth in 18:12.72.
The Blue Hen "C" boat placed 12th by posting a time of 18:24.27, the "E" boat finished 16th in 19:03.24, and the "D" boat came in 17th in 19:04.50.
Additionally, Delaware finished 11th of out 23 boats in the Freshmen Novice Women's 8+ race with a time of 21:15.85.
“We had a nice end to our fall racing season on Saturday; it was a fun way to wrap up," head coach Kevin Gruber said. "Winning races is really, really hard, so anytime you come out on top you appreciate it.”
