Amanda Studnicki Named CAA Singles Player of the Week

RICHMOND, Va. – Amanda Studnicki (Normal, Ill./Normal West) earned her first-ever CAA Women's Tennis Singles Player of the Week award, as announced by the conference late Wednesday afternoon.
Studnicki posted a 2-0 record in the No. 1 singles spot as Delaware defeated George Mason (5-2) and Albany (4-3). The sophomore picked up a hard-fought 7-5, 6-4 win over Mason's Brittany Pilkington before defeating Albany's Dajan Ognjenovic by the same 7-5, 6-4 score.
For the year, Studnicki is 8-7 overall and 4-1 in dual matches. She has won four straight, all coming in the top flight.
College of Charleston senior Katherine Schofield also earned Player of the Week accolades while the James Madison tandem of freshman Abby Amos and junior Rebecca Harris was named the Doubles Team of the Week.
Delaware (4-1) next hosts Howard this coming Saturday at Elkton Indoor Tennis. The match is slated to begin at 6:30 p.m.
