Blue Hens No. 10 Seed in CAA Tournament, Face Charleston Friday in First Round

BALTIMORE, Md. -- The University of Delaware men's basketball team will be the No. 10 seed in the 2016 Colonial Athletic Association Tournament and will face Charleston in the first round on Friday.
The Blue Hens (7-22, 2-16 CAA) will battle the seventh-seeded Cougars (16-13, 8-10 CAA) Friday at 8:30 p.m. at Royal Farms Arena in Baltimore during the final first round matchup of the day. The teams split two regular season meetings this year, as Charleston recorded a 59-58 victory at TD Arena on Jan. 23 while the Blue Hens posted a 62-59 triumph at the Bob Carpenter Center on Feb. 18. Friday's game will be the first ever postseason matchup between the two schools.
No. 8 seed Elon and No. 9 seed Drexel will open the tournament on Friday at 6 p.m., followed by the Blue Hens' game vs. Charleston
Top-seeded Hofstra will take on the winner of the Elon/Drexel game in Saturday's first quarterfinal at 12 noon, while No. 4 seed James Madison and No. 5 seed William & Mary will play at 2:30 p.m. Second-seeded UNCW will face the Charleston/Delaware winner at 6 p.m., before No. 3 seed Towson and No. 6 seed Northeastern wrap up the day at 8:30 p.m.
The semifinals will take place on Sunday at 1 and 3:30 p.m., while Monday's championship game begins at 7 p.m.
All four quarterfinal games will be televised by the Comcast SportsNet family of networks as well as several other regional outlets. The semifinals and championship game will be broadcast nationally on the NBC Sports Network. Friday's first round games will be available online at CAA.TV
CAA Tournament tickets are available at the Royal Farms Arena box office or by calling TicketMaster at (800) 745-3000. Blue Hen fans can also purchase tickets through the Delaware Ticket Office, in person at the BCC box office or by phone at (302) 831-2257. Individual session tickets range from $20 to $50, while championship books range from $80 to $200.
