WILMINGTON, Del. – Delaware concluded home indoor play Sunday afternoon with a 7-0 loss to Saint Joseph's at DuPont Country Club.
The Blue Hens (0-7) dropped No. 1 doubles before sophomore Colin Wong (Shah Alam, Selangor, Malaysia/SMK Kota Kemuning) and junior Roy Cheng (Shatin, Hong Kong/Sentinel Secondary School) defeated Nick Ringle and Valentijn van Ervn, 6-3, in the No. 3 slot for their first win of the season.
The Hawks (4-3) picked up the team doubles point by collecting the 6-4 win in the second flight.
In singles play, freshman Blaise Casselbury (Lititz, Pa./Lancaster Country Day School) forced the lone three-set match of the day and just missed adding to his win total with a 1-6, 6-2, 7-6 (3) decision to Kevin Gates in the No. 4 spot.
“The team competed well today and showed fighting spirit. If we continue to keep working hard and showing a positive attitude, the results will come.”
