Blue Hens Use Offensive Explosion For 12-7 Home Win over Maryland

Jim Sherman. “I thought we swung the bats real well and got some good pitching as well. Once (UD starting pitcher Kevin) Milley settled down after the first inning he was very aggressive against their hitters, and Spadafino and Vila did the same, so that was a positive. Offensively we just had one of those days where we swung the bats well.”
The Blue Hens remain home this weekend to host the Bob Hannah Invitational, beginning with Friday's action that will feature Delaware State facing UMass-Lowell at 11 a.m. and Delaware taking on the Hornets at 2:30 p.m.
Game Notes:
• Delaware snapped a four-game losing streak to Maryland and defeated the Terps for the first time since 2012
• The Blue Hens tied their season-high with 12 runs scored
• UD did not hit a homer in the first five games of the season, but has two in each of the last two contests
• Mohollen extended his hitting streak to six games
