Delaware Women's Tennis, Cross Country Earn NCAA Public Recognition Awards for Academics

Laura Travis, has now been honored by the NCAA all 11 years and are one of only 13 women's tennis programs nationally who can make that claim - joining the likes of Arizona State, Bucknell, Butler, Dartmouth, DePaul, Fordham, Lafayette, Loyola (Md.), Penn, Penn State, Xavier, and Yale. Laura Travis and Wendy McFarlane-Smith and their student-athletes on this outstanding accomplishment,” said Delaware Interim Director of Athletics Dr. Matt Robinson. “Academic achievement is our top priority at Delaware and we are proud of each of these programs for being leaders in the classroom not only within our conference but throughout the entire nation.”William & Mary led all CAA institutions with six teams honored. Other women's tennis programs in the CAA honored were College of Charleston, Drexel, Hofstra, Towson, and UNCW while other women's cross country programs recognized were Hofstra and Towson.
There were 1,071 Division I teams honored by the NCAA for earning Public Recognition Awards. The scores required to be in the top 10 ranged from 980 to a perfect 1,000, depending on the sport, with the majority of top 10 teams earning a perfect APR.
