Taylor Hollingsworth, Erin Layne Inducted Into National Nursing Honor Society

NEWARK, Del. -- University of Delaware volleyball players Taylor Hollingsworth and Erin Layne will be inducted into the Beta Xi Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau (National Nursing Honor Society) on April 22 in a ceremony that will be held at the Marriott Courtyard in Newark.
The two junior nursing majors will become members of the Beta Xi Chapter of the Honor Society of Nursing, Sigma Theta Tau International (STTI), one of the largest and most prestigious nursing organizations in the world.
Hollingsworth (Wilmington, Del./Ursuline Academy) saw action in all 29 matches while making 12 starts during the 2015 season, ranking third on the squad with 256 digs and fourth with 21 service aces. She recorded double digit digs in 10 matches on the year, including a season-best 18 in the five-set home win over Elon on Oct. 31.
Layne (Flower Mound, Tex./Flower Mound) appeared in 20 matches for the Blue Hens last fall, finishing the year with 84 assists and 31 digs. She posted season-highs of 26 assists and eight digs during the win at Elon on Oct. 10, added 13 assists vs. Northern Colorado, and tallied 11 assists and seven digs during the season finale vs. UNCW.
The Blue Hen volleyball program has had three players inducted into the National Nursing Honor Society over the last two years, as 2016 graduate Katie Hillman was selected last April. The mission of the Honor Society of Nursing, Sigma Theta Tau International (STTI) is advancing world health and celebrating nursing excellence in scholarship, leadership, and service.
