Partner stations, Fox Sports 1290 WWTX-AM, and 1410 WDOV-AM will continue to carry all Delaware women's basketball broadcasts. The new contract extension runs through the 2020-21 season.
"UD has a large and loyal fan base that covers the entire state of Delaware," said iHeartMedia Markets Group Area President Chris Walus. “We're very excited to continue to provide Blue Hens fans with play-by-play broadcasts of their favorite football and basketball team on our network of stations."
"Delaware Athletics is excited to continue this important partnership with Blue Hens IMG Sports Marketing and iHeartMedia-Delaware," said UD Director of Athletics Chrissi Rawak, who began her tenure with the Blue Hens earlier this month. "From my short time here in Delaware, its clear that the passion for this University and our student-athletes is tremendous. High-quality game broadcasts, coaches shows, and other programming for Blue Hen Athletics are all part of a great fan experience and we are thrilled to continue our work together."
The 50,000-watt 94.7 WDSD-FM signal blankets Delaware and spreads into the surrounding states of Maryland, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. In addition to broadcasts being heard on the powerful FM station, all games can also be heard on the iHeartRadio app, and all home games can be heard on the University of Delaware's digital streaming video player, Hens All-Access.
"We are thrilled to continue our fantastic relationship with iHeartMedia, including Delaware Football and the Coach's Show," said Brock. "We look forward to our continuing work with Scott Klatzkin and his group as they deliver a great product to the Blue Hen faithful everywhere."
The 2016-17 season will mark the 18th consecutive season that Delaware athletics can be heard on 94.7 WDSD-FM and will extend iHeartMedia-Delaware's partnership with Blue Hens IMG Sports Marketing. Play-by-Play broadcaster, Scott Klatzkin, will enter in to his fifth season as “The Voice of the Blue Hens” on WDSD.
