A 6-0 forward/guard from Lake Wylie, S.C., Lefft will be eligible for competition beginning during the 2017-18 campaign.
“Gadson is a young lady who can play multiple positions,” remarked Martin, who is in her 21st season at the helm of the Blue Hens. “She shoots the ball well from the outside and can drive the ball to the basket. Additionally, she can rebound at both ends of the floor. We are very excited about Gadson's future in a Delaware uniform.”
As a freshman last season, Lefft averaged 2.6 rebounds and 2.2 points in 21 games played for the Tigers. She finished the year with a team-leading .463 (19-41) field goal percentage.
Lefft played two seasons at Heathwood Hall Episcopal School in Columbia, S.C. where she scored over 1,000 points and grabbed 750 rebounds as a two-time All-State honoree. The SCISA AAA Player of the Year, Lefft guided the Highlanders to the program's first-ever SCISA State title during her senior campaign in 2013-14.
Following graduation from HHES in 2014, she spent a year at the Phillips Academy in Andover, Mass., where she averaged 14.1 points and 6.5 rebounds per game before enrolling at Clemson.
The daughter of Ricky and Benita Lefft, she is currently majoring in psychology with the goals of beginning a career in orthopedic surgery.
