NEWARK, Del. – As has been the case throughout his four-year career in a Delaware uniform, senior Guillermo Delgado (Tres Cantos, Spain/Jose Luis Sampedro) had a hand in all three of the Hens goals Wednesday evening as No. rv UD picked up the 3-1 victory over Seton Hall at Stuart & Suzanne Grant Stadium.
Delgado finished the game with four points on a goal and two assists and in the process collected his 99th career point to tie the University of Delaware's all-time leader, Mike Biggs, who did so from 1968-70.
The forward also inches closer to Biggs' all-time goals record of 47 as Delgado sits with 42. His two assists bumped him up to 15 for his career, which ties him for fifth in the record books with former teammate, Joe Dipre (2012-15).

Delgado opened the evening's scoring in the 23rd minute as he collected a pass from classmate Dani Laguna (Tres Cantos, Spain/Jorge Manrique) and tapped it in from just in front of the goal line.
The pair connected again in the 37th minute, but this time it was Delgado dished it out to Laguna, who put in the shot from more than 20 yards out on the left side.
SHU's Jordan Kinoshi tallied the Pirates (2-3-1) lone goal in the 74th minute after collecting the loose ball in front of the net.
Junior Carlos Perales (at left; L'Alcúdia de Crespins, Spain/Colegio Claret Xàtiva) notched his first goal of the season in the 87th minute as he also received the cross from Delgado to give the Hens the 3-1 final tally.
Redshirt sophomore goalie Todd Morton (West Chester, Pa./Henderson) stopped a season-best five shots for the win while Seton Hall's Peyton Elder earned his first career start between the pipes and registered three saves.
“Any victory against a BIG EAST team is an important one. Being at 5-1 puts us in a good position as we open CAA play against William & Mary this weekend.”
[On Guillermo Delgado]: “I'm really happy for Guille. It's a special night as he ties a special gentleman in Mike Biggs. They are both tremendous players who mean a ton to our program.”
Senior Guillermo Delgado
“We had to keep playing the way we know how to tonight in order to get the win. We kept the possessions moving around and we couldn't panic or worry. We put all of our passion out on that field.”
[On tying the school-record for career points]: “It really means a lot to be leaving your name in the history books. I'm very proud. This isn't only for myself, but also my family, supporters and teammates. My name will forever be etched in the history books at Delaware and that's very exciting.”
Senior Dani Laguna
“The main difference between Sunday's game and today is that we made our chances when we had to. We were really strong mentally tonight and we weren't going to give up those chances.”
[On playing alongside Guillermo Delgado]: “Obviously he makes everything so much easier for everyone around him. We could make a bad pass, but he'll make it look good. It's great to have him on our team and as long as he keeps scoring, we'll be all right. He makes life easier for everyone.”
