Women's Lacrosse Adds Transfer Caitlin McMahon to 2016-17 Roster

McMahon joins the Blue Hens from Jacksonville University where she was a crucial piece to a Dolphins squad that went 30-8 with a 15-0 mark in the Atlantic Sun during her two seasons at JU. During the 2015 campaign, McMahon was named a part of the A-Sun All-Freshman Team while the Dolphins picked up the league championship title.
The midfielder registered 19 points (14g, 5a) with 77 draw controls, 13 ground balls and eight caused turnovers in 38 total games played at Jacksonville.
“Caitlin is passionate about the student-athlete experience and she is an impact player and proven competitor at the NCAA Division I level,” exclaimed Linville, who is entering her seventh season as the head coach at her alma mater. “Caitlin will add depth and talent to our draw unit and bring game day experience to our team. We are excited to have her join the Blue Hens family.”
A native of Gaithersburg, Md. and 2014 graduate of The Bullis School, McMahon posted 66 goals, 16 assists and 72 draws during her senior season. A two-time team captain, McMahon was a four-time team MVP while earning the school's Best Female Athlete Award in 2014. She was also All-Gazette First Team and Honorable Mention selections under head coach Kathleen Lloyd.
The daughter of Catherine McMahon, Caitlin plans on majoring in health behavior science with a minor in strength & conditioning with the aspirations of becoming an athletic trainer.
