NORTHBOROUGH, Mass. – The University of Delaware women's lacrosse team had a pair of student-athletes earn all-region selections, when the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) announced the Division I teams on Thursday. Senior Ella Rishko and sophomore Kennedy Radziul were both named to the IWLCA Mid-Atlantic All-Region Second Team. Rishko and Radziul are now eligible to be named to a national IWLCA All-American team, which will be announced on May 21.
Rishko adds to her impressive list of accolades this season with her first all-region nod. She was named the unanimous ASUN Offensive Player of the Year and an All-ASUN First Team selection. In her final season in the Blue & Gold, Rishko led the Fightin' Blue Hens with 53 goals and 68 points. The senior had 13 hat tricks in 18 games played and recorded five games with at least five points. She became the first Blue Hen since 1994 (Jenn Rinnander) to reach the 50-goal mark and finished with the eighth-most goals in program single-season history. The Rehoboth Beach, Delaware native also led Delaware with 36 caused turnovers, leading all attackers in the nation with 2.00 caused turnovers per game, and set the program record with 99 draw controls on the season. Rishko finished the season with 29 ground balls
Radziul had a breakout sophomore campaign, earned ASUN Defensive Player of the Year and All-ASUN First Team honors. She led Delaware's stiff defense with 37 ground balls and 30 caused turnovers, marking the fourth-straight season the Blue Hens have had a member of the 30-30 club. Radziul had a career-high five caused turnovers at then-No. 24 Georgetown and had four ground balls in a game four times this spring. She was part of a defense that ranks 16th nationally in scoring defense (8.50 goals per game) and caused turnovers per game (11.0). The Blue Hens held 11 opponents to single digits, the most by a UD defense since 2017.
Delaware wrapped up a historic 2026 season with a 13-5 overall record, the program's most wins with 1999. In its first season in the ASUN, UD went 8-0 in conference play to win its first regular season championship since 1999 and mark the fifth time that the program has finished undefeated in conference. Delaware defeated Lindenwood in the ASUN semifinals for the program's first conference tournament victory since 2009. The Blue Hens took home four conference major awards including ASUN Offensive Player of the Year (Rishko), ASUN Defensive Player of the Year (Radziul), ASUN Midfielder of the Year (Morgan Gore) and ASUN Coach of the Year (Amy Altig), and had six all-conference selections.
