Blue Hens Open CAA Slate With Home Matches vs. Northeastern, Hofstra

NEWARK, Del. -- The University of Delaware women's soccer team opens its Colonial Athletic Association schedule this weekend as the Blue Hens host Northeastern and Hofstra at Stuart & Suzanne Grant Stadium.
UD will take on Northeastern on Friday at 7 p.m. before facing Hofstra Sunday at 1 p.m, with live video and live stats available for both matches.
The Blue Hens are looking to get on track after winning one of their nine non-league contests. UD senior Natalie Zelenky scored the team's lone goal in each of its last two matches against Penn and Stony Brook, and leads the Blue Hens with six points. Dani Kabat is tied with Zelenky for the team lead with two goals, while Krista Trinidad has added a goal and an assist.
Goalkeeper Kailyn Rekos has started all nine matches in the Delaware net, making 60 saves while posting a 2.03 goals against average.
Northeastern enters the weekend with a 5-4-1 record, and the Huskies are coming off a pair of victories over Boston University and New Hampshire. Kayla Cappuzzo was named the CAA Player of the Week on Monday after scoring the game-winning goal against BU and then assisting in both tallies vs. the Wildcats. Cappuzzo and Hannah Rosenblatt have each posted a team-leading nine points on three goals and three assists, while Nathalie Nidetch has recorded a 1.19 goals against average in the Huskies goal.
Hofstra carries a 7-2-1 mark into its match on Friday at Drexel, and the Pride posted a pair of 2-1 wins over Fairleigh Dickinson and Fordham last weekend. Kristin Desmond tallied two goals and an assist during the pair of wins, while Jill Mulholland added a goal and two helpers. Ashley Wilson has started all nine matches in the Hofstra net, allowing just five goals in 450 minutes of action.
Hofstra leads the all-time series with Delaware, 17-6-1, and the Pride has posted three wins and a tie during its last four matches against the Blue Hens. UD holds a 9-4-4 advantage over Northeastern, and has gone 2-0-2 during its last four meetings with the Huskies.
