CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – While no team scoring is set in place for fall tournament action, Delaware collected five total wins Saturday versus Boston University at the Harvard Fall Classic, held at the Beren Tennis Center.
In singles play, Brooke Pilkington (Virginia Beach, Va./Cape Henry Collegiate) continues to shine in her rookie campaign as she pulled out the 7-6, 3-6, 7-5 victory over Iryna Kostirko.
Junior Amanda Studnicki (Normal, Ill./Normal West) notched her third singles win of the year by defeating Remi Ramos, 6-2, 6-1.
Sophomore Annie Jaskulski (Wilmington, Del./Friends) earned her first victory of the season with a 6-4, 6-3 decision against Lily O'Fagan while junior Arielle Shuren (Suffern, N.Y./Suffern) posted the 6-3, 7-5 win over Kaely Malik.
Pilkington paired with sophomore Sara Komer (Venetia, Pa./Peters Township) for UD's lone doubles victory of the day by defeating Ramos and Kostirko, 6-3.
“We've had two days in a row of strong performances. The fact that the singles matches were close and long will help us in the future. I'm looking forward to seeing how we compete on day three.
