Blue Hens Open Weekend Homestand Thursday vs. UNCW

NEWARK, Del. -- The Blue Hen volleyball teams opens a crucial Colonial Athletic Association weekend homestand on Thursday when Delaware takes on UNCW at 7 p.m. at the Bob Carpenter Center.
The match will be livestreamed on Hens All-Access, while live stats will also be available.
The Blue Hens, who enter the contest with a 6-8 overall record and an 0-1 mark in the league, are looking to snap a three-match losing streak. Delaware opened conference play last Saturday with a four-set home loss to Towson, despite a season-high 13 kills from Daria Robinson.
Autumn Jenkins recorded her sixth double-double of the season against the Tigers with 11 kills and 17 digs, while Alexa Swann added nine kills and seven blocks. Taylor Hollingsworth tied Jenkins for the team lead with 17 digs, while Julia Anderson posted her second straight double-double with 34 assists and 11 digs.
Swann currently ranks second in the CAA with 1.16 blocks per set, while Hollingsworth is third with 4.69 digs and Anderson ranks sixth with 8.23 assists.
The defending conference champion Seahawks bring an 11-3 record into Thursday's match, and UNCW is 1-1 in the league after falling to Northeastern and defeating Hofstra at home last weekend. Nicole Lott paces the Seahawks and ranks seventh in the conference with 3.06 kills per set, while Maddy Kline is ninth in the league with a 2.93 kills average. Sydney Brock is third in the CAA with 1.12 blocks per set for UNCW, which averages a league-best 2.90 blocks as a team.
Delaware leads the all-time series with UNCW, 24-9, but the Seahawks have won six of the last seven meetings including each of the last four.
Following the UNCW contest, the Blue Hens will conclude their eight-match homestand by hosting Elon on Saturday at 7 p.m. and the College of Charleston on Sunday at 1 p.m.
