University of Delaware Softball Announces 2016 Fall Exhibition Schedule

NEWARK, Del. -- The University of Delaware softball team will play seven games including three at home during its 2016 fall exhibition schedule, second-year head coach John Seneca has announced.
The Blue Hens will open their fall slate on Saturday, Sept. 24 with a home doubleheader against Delaware State at 12 noon at the UD Softball Stadium, before heading to Saint Joseph's on Saturday, Oct. 1 to take on the host Hawks at 12 noon and Penn at 2 p.m.
Delaware will host Wilmington University in a 12 noon single game on Sunday, Oct. 9, before closing its fall schedule on Sunday, Oct. 16 with a 12 noon twinbill at Rutgers.
The Blue Hens return 10 players and welcome 11 newcomers for the 2017 season, attempting to build on last year's successful campaign that saw the squad win 30 games and advance to the CAA Tournament. UD has posted consecutive 30-win seasons for the first time since 1999-2000, and last spring won a game in the league tournament for the first time since 2004.
