Delaware Shows Success on Day 2 of ITA Atlantic Regional

BLACKBURG, Va. – The Blue Hens fared well and picked up four victories Saturday on Day 2 of the ITA Atlantic Regional, which is hosted by Virginia Tech at the Burrows-Burleson Tennis Center.
In doubles play, sophomore Brooke Pilkington (Virginia Beach, Va./Cape Henry Collegiate) and junior Sara Komer (Venetia, Pa./Peters Township) posted two wins to advance to Sunday's quarterfinals contest.
The pair first defeated Radford, 8-3, before topping Clara Tanielian and Olivia Thaler from CAA foe William & Mary, 8-5. The Blue Hens will now take on top-seeded Virginia at 9 a.m. Sunday.
On the singles main draw side, Pilkington knocked off the No. 16 seed in Marshall's Maddie Silver, 7-6 (3), 6-2 and will face Maryland's Arnelle Sullivan in the Round of 32.
In extra matches, senior Amanda Studnicki (Normal, Ill./Normal West) defeated Radford's Drousile Dzeubou, 7-5, 7-6 (3).
