Women's Tennis Completes Play at ITA Atlantic Regional

BLACKBURG, Va. – Delaware's success at the ITA Atlantic Regional continued Sunday as the Blue Hens wrapped play at Virginia Tech's Burrows-Burleson Tennis Center.

In the singles main draw, sophomore Brooke Pilkington (Virginia Beach, Va./Cape Henry Collegiate) collected the 7-5, 6-2 victory over Maryland's Arnelle Sullivan in the Round of 32 before falling to Virginia Tech's Elena Cerezo-Codina, 6-2, 6-2.

In a consolation singles match, junior Sara Komer (Venetia, Pa./Peters Township) pulled out the win in come-from-behind fashion with a 4-6, 6-3, 12-10 decision against Virginia Tech's Nancy Ghanem.

Also in singles play, junior Sarah Hall (West Orange, N.J./Mount Saint Dominic Academy) also pushed a three-set match with her 2-6, 6-2, 10-5 win against Radford's Tyler Blalock.

On the doubles side, Komer and Pilkington fell in the main draw to the top-seeded pair of Meghan Kelley and Rosie Johanson (Virginia), 8-6.

In an extra match, Hall paired with senior Amanda Studnicki (Normal, Ill./Normal West) for the 8-5 triumph versus Pitt's Gabriela Rezende and Luisa Varon.
