Blue Hens Fall to George Washington, 5-2

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Delaware women's tennis opened its spring slate Saturday afternoon with a 5-2 defeat at the hands of George Washington University at the Southeast Tennis and Learning Center.
Despite picking up the first doubles win with a 6-2 result from junior Sarah Hall and senior Amanda Studnicki in the second slot, the Hens (0-1) dropped the team doubles point.
Sophomore Brooke Pilkington tied the match at 1-1 to open singles action by topping Melis Bayrakatoglu, 6-0, 6-2, in the second flight.
Freshman Sarah Whited collected the lone other win of the day for UD with the No. 6 singles 6-4, 6-4 victory over Diana Kussainova.
