Blue Hens To Host Delaware Invitational This Weekend in Rehoboth Beach

REHOBOTH BEACH, Del. – The UD women's golf team will close out its 2017 fall schedule this weekend as the Blue Hens host the fifth annual University of Delaware Invitational at Rehoboth Beach Country Club.
The tournament will be held on the par 72, 6,180-yard course at RBCC, featuring two rounds on Saturday beginning at 8:30 a.m. and one on Sunday starting at 9 a.m. The nine-team field includes the Blue Hens, Albany, Bucknell, Harvard, James Madison, Navy, Penn, Penn State and Towson.
Last year Harvard claimed its second consecutive team title, while the Crimson's Anna Zhou was the tournament medalist.
The invitational concludes the fall season for the Blue Hens, who have posted three top-10 finishes during their first four tournaments. Delaware, the two-time defending Colonial Athletic Association champion, received its 2017 CAA rings in a ceremony prior to the tournament.
Sophomore Ariane Klotz, the 2017 CAA Rookie of the Year, leads the squad with a 74.18 average round and has placed among the top 10 individuals in all four tournaments. Ashley Dingman ranks second on the team with a 76.18 stroke average, while Josefina Fernandez-Davila is third with a 76.55 average including a second place finish at the Rutgers Invitational.
