Blue Hen Setter Courtnie Roberts Named CAA Volleyball Rookie of the Week

RICHMOND, Va. – University of Delaware freshman setter Courtnie Roberts was named the Colonial Athletic Association Volleyball Rookie of the Week on Monday.
Roberts (Krum, Texas/Krum) led the Blue Hens with 60 assists, an average of 6.67 per set, while adding 18 digs and eight kills during Delaware's victories over William & Mary and Elon last weekend.
Roberts handed out a team-high 28 assists in Friday's five-set win over the Tribe, before tying her career-high with 32 assists to go with 13 digs in Sunday's four-set triumph over Elon. She notched her third double-double of the season vs. the Phoenix, while also adding a career-best five kills.
Roberts has appeared in all 20 matches while making seven starts for the Blue Hens during her freshman season, currently ranking second on the team with 301 assists and fifth with 106 digs. Her 5.59 assists per set in CAA matches rank eighth in the league.
Roberts and the Blue Hens will look to extend their winning streak this weekend as Delaware heads to Northeastern on Friday and to Hofstra on Sunday.
