HEN SCRATCHINGS 🐔
• After a weekend of home wins, the Blue Hens travel north to face Northeastern on Friday and Hofstra on Sunday. Delaware posted a comeback win over William & Mary last Friday in a five-set thriller and defeated Elon 3-1 on Sunday. UD improved to 5-15 overall and 3-7 in the Colonial Athletic Association after a victorious weekend.
• In Friday's match over William & Mary, outside hitter Maria Bellinger paced the Blue Hens with 19 kills and 11 digs, while Brooke Robertson slammed 15 kills and 11 digs. Daria Robinson posted 11 kills and four blocks. Courtnie Roberts and Abby Skryd led the team in assists in Friday's five-set match, as Roberts handed out 28 assists while Skryd contributed 18 assists and nine digs.
• Maddie Judge led the defensive effort with 13 digs vs. the Tribe and 21 vs. the Phoenix, while middle hitter Julia Hayes made four blocks on Friday and three on Sunday.
• Four players posted double-doubles last Sunday. Robertson led the team with a career-high 22 kills and posted 10 digs for her third double-double of the season. Her 22 kills surpassed her previous career-high of 15, set during last Friday's win against William & Mary, and are the sixth most made by a Blue Hen this season. Robertson is five kills away from reaching the 200-career mark. Bellinger recorded her 12th career double-double by contributing 12 kills and 16 digs. Skryd posted 14 assists and 11 digs, marking her third double-double of the season. Skryd is ranked sixth in the conference for assists, with 5.68 per set. Roberts earned her third double-double with 13 digs and 32 assists to go with a career-high five kills.
• Roberts was named the CAA Rookie of the Week on Monday after leading the Blue Hens with 60 assists, an average of 6.67 per set, while adding 18 digs and eight kills total last weekend.
• After a weekend of road matches, UD will return home for its final three home matches of the season next weekend to face UNCW, James Madison and Charleston.
SERIES INFORMATION 💪
• The Blue Hens leads the Huskies, 26-24, in the all-time series. Northeastern snapped a two-match losing streak against Delaware in its last meeting during UD's home opener in September. The Huskies have been defeated in three sets in their last two matches. Northeastern's Amy Underdown is first in kills among CAA matches with 4.63, while Bellinger is third with 4.05. The Huskies' Samantha Shupe ranks seventh in conference-only assists with 5.61, just above Roberts who averages 5.59.
• Hofstra leads Delaware in all-time series meetings, 51-20, last meeting on the Blue Hens' home court earlier this season. The Pride enter the weekend having dropped three of their last four matches. Ranking just below Bellinger, Hofstra's Laura Masciullo is fourth in conference-only kills by averaging 4.03 per set.
