NEWARK, Del. – The University of Delaware men's basketball team will play an exhibition game at Mount St. Mary's on Wednesday, November 1 at 7:30 p.m. in Knott Arena to raise awareness and financial support for hurricane relief efforts.
All proceeds from the game will be donated to Catholic Relief Services to aid hurricane relief efforts in Puerto Rico.
A $5 donation is suggested for general admission entrance to Knott Arena, with doors opening at 6:15 p.m. Fans are also asked to donate non-perishable food items, water, clothing, medical supplies or hygiene products such as razors, diapers, toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap, etc.
“I want to thank Mount St Mary's and their administration for their hard work in bringing this game together,” Blue Hen head coach Martin Ingelsby said. “We are honored to be able to compete against the Mount in a third exhibition game and most importantly, to assist in the hurricane relief efforts in Puerto Rico.”
The game will not be streamed online. Delaware and Mount St. Mary's have played 14 times in school history, but have not faced each other since 2004. The Blue Hens open their regular season on Friday, November 10 with a 7 p.m. game at Richmond.
